Colorado Line

This was one of the Missouri Pacific's major lines. It connected St. Louis, Kansas City and Pueblo, Colorado. At Pueblo it connected with other lines that could take the passenger all the way to California. The main stations in Lane County were at Pendennis, Shields and Healy. In the later years of passenger service on this line, the train didn't stop at any of these. You can trace this development by looking at timetables for this line for the following dates:

Great Bend to Scott City Branch

This line was originally called the Great Bend Branch (from where it left the main line). It went to Scott City and then eventually was extended south to Garden City where it again joined the Santa Fe main line.
